    Correction: the hexbeam ('umbrella antenna')was invented by Mike Traffie N1HXA.

    From what I read, he contracted COVID, and was recovering and had a heart attack...I assume another victim from COVID...

    Below is the quote from DX WORLD.NET

    "We are very sad to report that well known Hexbeam antenna maker and IOTA expeditioner, Waldi SP7IDX, has become Silent Key. He was recently recovering from contracting Covid and sadly passed away due to a heart attack. RIP, Waldi"
