Well, good try. Better luck next time! Beautiful scenery, though.

You only fail if you don't go. Not always going as planned is what makes it fun and challenging.

Having been born and raised in Minnesota I know what you are up against. Been there, had the same results. Don't loose your enthusiasm for radio sport or the outdoors.

Y'all just need a 4 wheel drive dually with a truck camper...you get the ground clearance and all the comforts of home. Check out my QRZ page...better luck next time. Portable operation is a lot of fun, so don't stop trying to go portable.

The video brought back some 44 year old memories that made me laugh.

I know someone that, when they were a 16 year old ham, got their car stuck while trying to drive to a hilltop to see how 2M FM did from "up there". I...no...no...no....They. Yes, that's right, they. They had to get on the radio to have someone come out with a tow rope to pull the car out of the sand. You did far better than I..I mean they....did. :)

Remember when heading into the backcountry take a Jeep. If you want to come back out take a Land Cruiser! :)

You yl's are funny and made me laugh.

SOTA activation in Winter...you ladies ARE brave!

The coldest day I ever spent was in August trying a SOTA activation of Mount Washington....

    :)

Some of the best moments of portable operation are during the anticipation (planning, packing, and traveling to a remote site). Getting snowed on, having the wind blow over your portable antenna, or realizing you forgot something can all rain on your parade. It's the ones that go smoothly that keep you coming back and working at increasing your odds of a pleasurable experience.

Nice to see two young ladies at it - even if things didn't work out. Too few young folks and far too few females involved.
