The Radioddity GS-5B offers some unique features and is geared toward a very specific kind of ham radio operator. Who should be in the market for this dual-band analog HT? I cover that and more in this short review on the GS-5B
Promotion without substance. No specs. No telling us it has a front end you can drive a truck through but plenty about flashing lights and rubber bouncy thingy's and you can even be a secret service man.
Gotta agree, that was a pretty weak effort. It's nominally a field-oriented radio, but the review was nothing but a pair of ghost hands coon-fingering it while talking about superficial features. Why not take it outdoors and run it side-by-side against another radio? Take it to an RF-challenged spot, one offering lots of interference, and report on the performance? This was more akin to an unboxing video that actual review. That said, I do like the BT programming option and the ability to charge it via USB. The latter should be a standard feature on any HT these days. Chris
I suspect lots of people will buy it. There are lots of crappy HTs out there selling like hot cakes. Why shouldn't this one?
As an aside, it's NOT "radio oddity" as he's pronouncing it!!!! PLEASE! It's pronounced "Radee-Oddity!"
It's just ANOTHER poor performing REBADGED (since this company manufactures nothing) piece of Chinese crap.
And.... you guessed it, an affiliate link in the description below. Too bad we can't see the YouTube description while watching through qrz forum page.
If you click on the video, we all lose. It encourages the making of more 'content' (substitute your own word).
