Just worked 6 stations in the northeast and Canada right after contest started.
Using an ICOM7300 and a portable, tripod mounted vertical roughly set to 10 meter ( properly adjust length tomorrow).
This is my first 10 meter contest...it was a lot of fun...I was surprised.
Very similar to 6 meter contests.

Hope these conditions last all weekend. 28-28.08 is jam packed with CW.

Have been pleasantly surprised. I'm a very easy going contester doing S&P, and have logged 28 contacts over about 3 hours. Mostly to the east and south, nothing west.

The CME fizzled 2 days ago and became a non-event. Had it had the effect originally predicted it could have had a negative impact on HF propagation, but it turned out not to be.

Current sunspot number is 11, same as yesterday, and SFI 83 (not great but OK). Here in Michigan after dark there were several strong stations on 10m working the contest (CW, I didn't check phone). There will be lots more today. You should be able to work lots of stations, even QRP. Good luck.

I wish there were lots of stations to work. I have a few dozen in the log and with rare exception all west coast

Dead as a door nail in SoCal right now unlike yesterday. The band started fizzling out around 2230 at my QTH. I hope it gets better before the contest ends.
