The usual: Bash the old timers and extol our new overlords, young people who neither know nor care about amateur radio.

But enough. My straight key and I are going back to the bands so we can continue hampering "progress".

I agree. Some of these Hams need to get a solid grip on today's youth and interests.

We see the same old antenna analyses and same old Contest counts and same old CW forever scripts that are out of step of why we even got into this hobby in the 1960's.

Let's be inventive and talk about something new ... how one chases DX is far more interesting than competing for a few seconds of a competition that most will never win competing against antenna systems that rival commercial stations.

Anyone hit those Chinese satellites orbiting the Moon; and if so, how?

Anyone bounce a signal off an asteroid or lately?

Anyone use the ISS repeater to establish a long-leg contact; and if so, how and how long was the contact in distance from your QTH?

Anyone delving into HF radio astronomy?

How about talking to those in Hong Kong to get the real stories that CNN and MSNBC liberal media outlets block from their viewers - or even the revolt against the Italian liberals and illegals that caused some to burn the boats that was dumping them on their shores while their corrupt Government met in a villa to re-establish two votes for aristocrats and business leaders to the one vote for Italian citizens?

The radio is far more interesting when doing something new or relevant or exciting or what few others can and have done.

Anyone can surf the net; but when you connect with a Ham, you are getting a different cut of person no matter what culture, religion or nation they are form. We all have something in common - aside from an IQ above liberal bean dip.

This is afar the future of Ham Radio. No wonder kids shun us....boring and more of the same.
