I suppose that the salvage people are hoping to steal the technology used to make the radio.

from what Ive read & heard from older ham ops back then (still alive), it wasnt the radios fault

they literally thought this ship was indestructible

how do you remove what is probably a rusted, a decayed radio from a surrounding rusted debris field is illogical

someone has more time & $$ on their hands than brains

The S.P.A.R.C. Museum in Coquitlam, BC, Canada houses an excellent replica of the Wireless Office aboard Titanic's sister ship, Carpathia. The Marconi spark equipment in this room is in operable condition, and was even "fired up" during the Marconi commemoration some years ago.

Why does an American court have jurisdiction over the wreck of a British ship resting on the seabed in International waters?

Carpathia was the ship that came to the aid of Titanic. Her sister ship at the time was the Olympic.

Why do American troops have the right to enter countries & kill people without the permission of that country's government?

Not looking for a debate. Just stating "fact".

Titanic is (as you pointed out) in international waters.
It's owners have no claim as they were paid by Lloyds of London, who also make no claim of ownership.

So. The salvage company RMS Titanic was granted salvage rights by........ Perhaps someone can tell us by whom. But most likely a "US judge".

None of the claims or even agreements between UK & US government's regarding that ship have any teeth as no country owns international waters.

Therefore anyone in theory can dive on that ship. But if they did that without the permission of their government then things could get very uncomfortable for them.
And they would forever be looking over their shoulder for that drone.

If the Russian government decided to dive on Titanic & remove whatever they wanted. What would that US judge do about it? = Obviously..... Nothing

As you can imagine, it is a little complicated. However, in contrast to another post here, the US initially tried to act to protect the Titanic. From a wikipedia article:

Spurred by Ballard's appeals for the wreck to be left alone, North Carolina Congressman Walter B. Jones, Sr. introduced the RMS Titanic Maritime Memorial Act in the United States House of Representatives in 1986. It called for strict scientific guidelines to be introduced to govern the exploration and salvage of Titanic and urged the United States Secretary of State to lobby Canada, the United Kingdom and France to pass similar legislation. It passed the House and Senate by an overwhelming majority and was signed into law by President Ronald Reagan on 21 October 1986.[20] However, the law has been ineffective as the wreck lies outside United States waters, and the Act was set aside by the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, Norfolk Division, in 1998.[128] Although negotiations among the four countries were carried out between 1997 and 2000,[129] the resulting "Agreement Concerning the Shipwrecked Vessel R.M.S. Titanic" has been ratified by only the US and the UK.[130]

Apparently the US is not so all-powerful.
