Very true. When I was young backpacking around here and using a compass, the declination was 13 degrees. Now it’s 8 degrees. I got out my old but still very nice Silva compass with mirror sight the other day to check the bearing on an antenna. It wasn’t coming out quite correctly until I realized that the declination setting was still at 13 degrees!

We don’t even know what magnetism is. We can to a degree observe, manipulate and take advantage of it, but we sure as hell have know idea what it is. Having watched "The Core" on netflix the other day I have a sinking suspicion why the magnetic pole is moving!!!
I understand that there are three p0les which have ben defined here. Now let me add a forth pole. It is a pole that centers on the fact that the entire Earth is a very broadband cavity resonator. The earth is surrounded with ionized layers that form the edges of a cavity resonator and microwave spectral Energy mostly from mobile cell phone transponders form the source of energy that feeds the cavity. The energy which may be considered as entropy, but is real and part of Maxwell's famous 4 equations. Electromagnetic Energy is never completely absorbed or lost. What does not get converted into another form of energy can not simply get lost. Much of it exists in a field that loads into the physical cavity resonator, which gets rotated around the Earth's real axis. I am presenting a course elsewhere about the reason why this is so. It all started with a post about the misunderstood translation of Russian secret papers dating back to the time of Marconi and Popov. Historians tell us that Popov believed that directional radio receivers could be used to detect lightning storms at a distance and direction. Only when did he understand that radio could be used to communicate messages from ships to shores as well as an aide to navigating...and when the Russian Navy got interested...well the next thing that was asked was: Could radio signals be used as weapons to kill enemies? So fearful were Russians about high levels of RF that they limited their best hams to QRP power levels. American hams thought that they did so because they could not afford to make high power rigs or because they did not trust hams to work the world without becoming spies. That may be partially true, but I believe that they did so because they reared RF much more than the hams of other nations did. We do know that high levels of RF energy can burn the skin surfaces of humans and animals, and are a possible cause for skin cancers (melanomas) in the same way that excessive sunlight exposure is. The Russians had discovered something that we may still not recognize and that is: that the entire Earth is a MICROWAVE OVEN. Without realizing that a field of the Earth' heats fixed glaciers internally how can we explain the explosions that have been cracking large glaciers in the polar regions in the presence of ever-increasing duty cycles of microwave spectral energy density since the start of the digital communication era, that began in the late 1950s isn't the principal cause of the internal heating of ice. Anyway, I left my first lessons about this subject in a thread here and asked for comments. So far only a Ham from Finland sent a thumb's up. I have heard nothing from Russian hams or from any others. I hope that everyone is taking the time to think about my hypotheses as I continue researching hopefully with a specialist that are more qualified than I am or with hams who may see phenomena clearer due to their own observations. I am especially interested on hams who have ventured to the continent of Antarctica which surrounds the South Pole and where I believe the ice is cracking up even more obviously than in the northern region. I must remind all that I post here with no intent to make any monetary profit by selling any products or running for any office. As a ham, I have learned much of what I know from unpaid Elmers. When I finally got her joke I told she was a Pole who had a lack of spelling skills. She was hot I remember and a great disposition. She wanted me to move to Poland and I figured my other girlfriends would miss me so I declined. She did not age well....last picture I saw she looked like Bella Abzug. Of course I had no room to talk, I look like Wilford Brimley.
And to date... the Earth's magnetic field has weakened south of 15%...and yes... it is still weakening.
