New Years Day, Starts at 0000Z, 1 Jan 2020.. for 24 hours. Most activity should be during the day time hours. Turn you radio on and make some noise. Participants are encouraged to get on the air and simply make enjoyable, conversational RTTY QSOs. Operate on all authorized Amateur frequencies. Please follow established band plans and be mindful of SKN QSOs. RTTY modes only. Call “CQ GKN”. The use of mechanical teleprinters is preferred, or simply get on the air with the oldest equipment you can scrape together. Real heavy metal Teletype machines to be sure, but if that isn’t available, how about a Kleinschmidt or older HAL TTY equipment? Please no brag tapes/files. Have a real conversation by hand typing it keyboard to keyboard. If your slow we’ll happily wait. Thanks for posting the reminder John. We had a QSO the last Green Keys Day and here is a video of our QSO using a Kam-XL TNC. Get on the air with what ever you have and enjoy. Give the guys keeping the mechanical gear functioning a reason to keep them on the air. Great nostalgic fun.
