Fantastic information. My KX3 needs time setting every day. The clock in the IC-756ProIII is accurate.
Looking forward to your next video.

Use Python to protect your radio.

My IC-7300 clock has been spot on for almost a year now. It's my computer clock that drifts. That causes me problem sometimes when running JS8CALL digital mode. But, for those clocks within the IC-7300 that do suffer from drift, wouldn't it be easy enough for Icom to build in a clock set routine where the press of a button would tune in WWV and set the clock internally by the WWV tones? To hear from NI9Y that his KX3 needs clock setting every day is appalling. When Elecraft charges way too much for that little radio in the first place and then to learn that the clock is not accurate is just disgusting.

Well, some folks just can't afford the Elecraft. But, outside of your disdain, it's my best rig.

Enter over-reliance and dependency on the Internet.

I have a $25 Timex wrist watch that keeps more accurate time than his KX3.

I downloaded a program called Dimension 4. Saw it recommended by those who operate digital modes. Keeps the computer clock dead nuts accurate. Set it once and forget it.

    Must be running Windows...

...ntp(d) is standard in Debian Stretch. Yay Linux!

DX Commander has a nifty feature to take care of this. - Set radio UTC time on startup or selection, and at the beginning of each hour.

There is a way the time sync can be done in Linux using a u-blox7 GPS/Glonass device. In one of his demos, OH8STN used this and described it's use (for those not wanting to stay with Windows).
