Jay Slough, K4ZLE, has over 60 years in the amateur radio hobby and still enjoys CW as his primary operating mode. An accomplished DXpeditioner, having operated in over 40 DX entities including South Sandwich Island. Always ready to extend the hand of friendship, either by knocking on the doors of houses with amateur antennas or sharing his own station through RemoteHams. K4ZLE is my QSO Today.

Jay is a great role model for the Amateur Radio Community! A humble, confident, and kind human. But a tough, can-do Marine. Well done, Jay! 73 de W8CI

Tnx Jay for your excellent QSO Today interview with Eric. I enjoyed listening to hear your story about your early years in amateur radio up to the present. Keep your journey rolling and I hope you get P5 in your log. 73 from Wisconsin, Denny WB9MSM

Nice interview. I was in that same Whitehaven High School summer radio class with John and I remember him as well as Ray that he mentions in the podcast. We had a great instructor in Ace Emory, W4LRO (sk). I also learned the code on my own, but did not get my novice license until the following spring.

Tnx. I hope I eventually get it too. But if I don't, they will not mark my 'tombstone' with"Got 'em all but P5"! It is just a hobby, eh?

Now why would you think the 'ZLE' suffix is good? : - ). Terrible having an E as the last letter in DX CW pileup. Hope that you can look back after hamming 60+ years and have enjoyed the hobby as much as I have.
