This is a quick video about the Yaesu FTdx101D announced at the Dayton Hamvention with all the information available at the event. Please forgive the video quality as I film very quickly with my cell phone. Thanks for your understanding. 73 Pascal VA2PV
Would not mind having one, but will wait a good while for them to start populating the shacks and see how they play...
Surprised to see a dvi port after the complaints about the 7610 having dvi instead of hdmi. Never mind. Did a little research and noticed hdmi has royalties and dvi doesn't . Explains why the new kenwood is dvi also.
At 5K to 9K they won't sell many of them other than to diehard Yaesu fans. Even at the low end of their estimate of 5K, unless this thing has magical powers I'll keep my ftdx-5000.
Just another expensive HF rig in my eyes. I wish it was all-mode, including VHF/UHF to compete with the TS2000. Would be the cats meow if it was a dual receive 2m/440 with HF. There are times when I'm doing two or three nets at a time when I could really be using 1 rig to do it all. Drives me crazy... it's like having multiple computers and not remembering which one does what or where my files are at... I'm a pretty diehard Yaesu guy... and lately their products are yuck. No thanks... I'm sticking to my reliable FT-857D, even though it has 9 billion menus and is tiny. At least I only need 1 mic, 1 foot pedal, and 1 set of memories. Though its awful switching back between freqs and missing something. Very annoying, but I've dealt with it all these years.
