https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Art_Bell "Death Art Bell died April 13, 2018 at age 72 at his home in Pahrump, Nevada.[66] An autopsy was scheduled for the following days to determine the cause of his death.[67] Bell had suffered from health problems in the previous years. He posted on his website in July 2016 that he was hospitalized for pneumonia and revealed at the time that he suffered from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.[68]"
Sad news indeed. His big signal and command of the English language will be missed. His AM broadcast career is legendary. In the evenings, I worked him many times on 75 meters from my home north of Anchorage, Alaska.
Art was a talented commercial radio broadcaster and ham radio operator. I learned about his passing only two hours ago. May he rest peacefully. https://www.msn.com/en-us/entertain...the-13th-at-age-72/ar-AAvSdcW?ocid=spartanntp
Art Bell, W6OBB, and his drone. I heard Art on 40m a couple of weeks ago. He was discussing the birth of his son. A great signal here in Dallas, Texas. I knew the people who headed up the organization that brought us Coast to Coast and so many other programs. The news of Art's passing was announced Friday April 13. I'll have more to say as we learn more. RIP Use this URL:
His show could range from thought provoking to downright tin-foil-hat-nutty. I listened often...even when things got crazy subject wise, he was always entertaining.
Very sad news. Thoughts and prayers for his wife and children. Mr. Bell has talked me to sleep more nights than I can count. May you find peace on your journey.
