Where do you see an obsession, let alone about everything being perfect?

What's REALLY scary is how afraid some folks are of.....accuracy....in what is supposed to be a technical radio service!

It's scary how some folks want to avoid ANY objective standards of fact or logic in a discussion forum. Boils down to "oh, we're just talking, it doesn't have to be right or make sense. Don't want any of our precious snowflakes to feel bad!"

    Isaac Asimov said it best:

“There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.”

Under the terms of TOS, ANYONE can make a reply that corrects another post. Why should the method be different for a moderator? What is gained?
This is not about any standards or logic, but how the standards or logic are applied. For some reason, anyone and everyone being able to make a correcting post is not good enough for you, and I cannot fathom why this is so.

There is no fear involved Jim.

If I make a post and you correct my post as a moderator, or I make a post and someone else corrects it in a reply, the correction is still being posted! If I fear correction, then I would not post!

I just don't understand your reasoning on this, and with that, I'm going to stop discussing it.

some are certainly proving themselves to be poor choices for moderators by their insidious rantings in this thread, as opposed to letting us be surprised when they turn out to be poor mods.

thank you for making it easier for the selection committee

    Who do you mean?

My idea of moderators editing for accuracy would require that the TOS include accuracy as part of it - and ONLY if the TOS included accuracy as a requirement.

So, are you in favor of the TOS requiring accuracy?

Oh it's one of those games, where you don't get to blow your opponent into fist size pieces of steaming flesh.

I have to go buy the latest version of Doom....
