Looked like the domain was taken over, maybe by a hacker.

I do not think the power failure had anything to do with it. But could have.

If the power failure did cause it then the ISP provider should have had a backup plan.

What does Amazon and the cloud have to do with this site? Can someone explain the setup?

    I was scared.
    I was lost.
    My friend was gone.
Even my dog was sad, she knew something was amiss.
Suddenly I had to find other sources for my logging info.
    Call books. Remember those?
Thanks for the all the effort, adios.

Seems pretty reasonable to me that the power outage was the reason. The particular Amazon datacenter location has had similar problems in the past: http://www.datacenterknowledge.com/archives/2012/06/30/amazon-data-center-loses-power-during-storm/

If the domain was taken over, it makes more sense that it would've redirected to another site or loaded *something* - absolutely nothing loaded while qrz.com was down.

Glad to see the site's back up, and hopefully no major data was lost.

The Internet was originally supposed to be nuclear-attack proof... maybe some beefing-up is in order.

I understand Sue. The sky here has been crying at the thought of losing the ZED.

    The internet was fine.
QRZ.COM was down. Same as if only you were down.
    Except more important.
