    Edward 'Rocky' Morris
    Amsterdam,NY Edward Rocky Morris, age 70, formerly of 256 Market Street, Amsterdam, NY passed away on April 13, 2015, at the Capstone Center after a long illness.

    He was the son of Dr. and Mrs. William Morris of Amsterdam, NY.
    He was born on May 15, 1944 in Ballston Spa, NY.
    He attended public schools in Plymouth, England, Winthrop, MA, and North Chicago, Illinois.
    He graduated from Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School in 1962.
    He completed automotive training at the Spring Garden Institute in Philadelphia, PA, in 1963.

    He worked as a steam fitter at General Electric in Schenectady, NY for nearly 10 years. He also worked for several automotive service centers in the area including the Ford Garage and Eagle Street Garage.
    He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing.

    He was also an amateur radio enthusiast, holding an expert license with the call sign WX2Q.

    He was predeceased by his father, William, in 1985; and cousin, Lewis Morris, in 2011.

    Survivors include his mother, Elizabeth Morris; and brother, David Morris of Amsterdam, NY; sisters, Lorraine (Gene) Shaylor of Fort Johnson, NY, Dena (Rick) Tenney of Loudonville, NY; also one uncle, Jack Chard of Ballston Spa, NY, Edna Mae Chard and family of Canon City, Colorado, and Alice Litts of Charlton, NY; two nephews, Robert Morris of Amsterdam, NY, and Michael Tenney of Loudonville, NY; two nieces, Katherine Dermody of Plattsburg, NY and Erica Tenney of Schenectady, NY.
    He is also survived by great-nephew, Noah Restifo of Schenectady, NY, and great-niece, Margaret Dermody of Plattsburg, NY. Also many cousins including Kathy Litts of Charlton, Dr. Warner Litts Jr. of Saratoga and Trent Mitchell of Charlton, NY survive.

    He will be missed by family and friends who knew and loved him.
    A private family gathering will be held at the convenience of the family.
    Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam.
