    Stephen D. Urasz, NZ6T SK

    SK April 2, 2015

Penn Valley, CA - Stephen D. Urasz fell asleep in death on Apr. 2, 2015 at his home.

Stephen was born at Perth Amboy, N.J. on Sep. 28, 1964 to Albert and Patricia Urasz. He has a younger sister, Christina.
He graduated from Woodbridge High School; the same school from which both his parents had graduated and went on to attend Chesapeake College in Wye Mills, Md.
Anyone who knew Steve described him as a genius. His curiosity knew no bounds. Steve was exceptionally skilled in electronics.
He built and flew RC aircraft, and at the age of 12 Steve's grandpa taught him how to build a ham radio from scratch.
Stephen obtained his first Ham Radio License (WB3JTS) in Wash DC. This required learning Morse code.
He later obtained his Amateur Extra license(NZ6T) in Calif.
Throughout his youth Steve worked at many jobs including oyster diver in the Chesapeake Bay, putting to use his skills as a scuba diver.
Recently Steve renewed his PADI license in preparation for a trip to Hawaii with his wife to celebrate their anniversary.

Steve was an ASE certified machinist and operated a business in Dover, where he often worked on race cars competing at Del-Mar Drag Strip. He was a savant as a mechanic.

Stephen married Jodie Ruckman in 2009 and moved to California. He loved Nevada County. Steve could often be found on top of a mountain, beside a river, or riding his Kawasaki around lake Tahoe. Steve began his own mobile mechanic business in 2013 and had a reputation for working miracles with mechanical things.
He also found time to expand his interest in chemistry. A chemical reaction could have him grinning from ear to ear.
His focus was on developing a treatment for bipolar disorder. His greatest love was for Jehovah God. Many times while he worked on a car he would have stimulating Bible discussions with his customers. His hope was to enjoy God's promise of life without the mental illness and physical pain he suffered.

Please visit jw.org to see more about Steve's hope. Steve is survived by his wife, Jodie; his parents, Albert and Patricia; his sister, Christina; three children, Stephanie, Kyle, and Leah; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; in-laws; workmates; and friends. Stephen was dearly loved and will be missed.
