one of the many ham activities this weekend will be the 54th edition of Worked All Germany Contest on shortwave. You may be out for score but of course like many contests WAG presents a lot of other operating opportunities as it should bring more than 2000 German stations on the air: With quite a few of them being bigguns, chances are good that QRP- and "antenna challenged" stations might get the one or other unexpected DX-QSO. In our soapbox we regularly have comments like "First DL-station on 80m" etc.

For award chasers WAG offers a big hunting ground as usually up to 1000 different DOKs (the local DARC chapters) are represented. Not all will be available with their members calling CQ, so it may help to call CQ by yourself thus also helping lesser equipped German stations. Besides that WAG may be a chance to have live competition in any hardware league via onlinescoreboards or refresh ties to Germany and its hams.

Please respect the contestfree segements (as part of the rules) to allow good neighbourhood with the worldwide scout activity "Jamboree on the Air".

Whatever your plans are this weekend - we hope that you will also enjoy some hours in WAG. We wish you "Viel Spaß und awdh"! ("Have fun and cuagn")
