    My Condolences.

    John W. Greenage, WX3C SK

    John Wallace Greenage, 82, of Slatington, PA, went to heaven, April 11, 2014.
    He was born in Philadelphia, on July 13, 1931.

    He graduated from Northeast High School.
    He was married to Janet Greenage, September 8. 1956

    He enjoyed bike riding, where he entered many races as a member of the 20th Century Cycling Club. One notable race was the Preliminary competition by the United States Olympic Committee where he took third place in the 125-mile road race for the 1948 Olympics.
    He enlisted in 1949 in the United States Army and served in the Korean War as a Radio Repairman.

    His hobbies included Ham Radio Operator and he belonged to the ARRL. He spent numerous weekends doing ham contests where he contacted people all over the world, including the Astronauts in 1969.

    He was a Boy Scout Leader from 1970-1974.

    Survivors: He was survived by five children: Patricia Ann and husband Larry Wells, John Wallace Greenage Jr. and fiancé Elizabeth Clarkson., Evelyn Best, Jacqueline and husband Boyd Gannon Jr., and Christopher Greenage and fiancé Victoria Py. He was survived by 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Brothers; William and Robert Greenage. Sister; Mrs. Jeanne Jacoby. Services: 10:30AM Thursday April 17, 2014 at United Presbyterian Church of Slatington, 6750 PA Rte. 873, Slatington PA. Viewing 9:30-10:30am at the church.

    Interment with military honors 1:30PM, at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville PA. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ., PO Box 4383 Bethlehem PA 18018.
