Default Signalink USB, IC-7000 and 13pin DIN cable

I just ordered the signalink USB and it will arrive with the 13pin DIN cable, because the 8pin is not available.

Is there going to be a problem connecting my IC-7000 with it ?

edit:

13pin din cable with ic-7000 has a ** and it follows:

This radio does NOT mute the Mic jack when using the Accy Port, so you will need to turn the Mic Gain down, or use the 6-pin Mini Din Data Port instead.

This means that the mic gain should be put to zero before operating digital modes ?

:-(

I use the SLUSB along with an IC-7000 -- however, I DO use the 6-pin data cable.

From my understanding, using the 13-pin ACC cable -- you are correct in the mic does NOT mute. Leave the mic gain alone, and when you want to work digital, simply unplug the mic.

Just did a search for the pinout for the 6-pin mini DIN to the RJ-45 -- I'd imagine that it'd be pretty simple to make. The 6-pin mini DIN is the same as a old PS/2 keyboard or mouse. But alas, I could not locate the pinout.

Unplugging the mic is the "quick and dirty" way of handling it, though.

Good luck!

Thanks for the quick reply,

I was wondering why this is happening...but i know very litle about electronics so i wanted to ask someone who might have the same tnc. I hope that somebody can reply to my question...but i think that i might consider changing the connection method if its possible after a month or so.

I will unplug the microphone when i use the tnc, that is the easy way of doing it...and expect to change the connection. I hope it can be done after i buy the tnc (i already made the payment and order via paypal).

p.s i dont know if i will be able to find the pinout diagram for a new cable.
