Hi - Hope you have better luck than me on finding a mike for your HTX-242
I've been looking for one for over a year now. My mike and cord are in great shape, but none of the buttons work on it, like the lock switch is on all the time. I still use it, but have to do all my programming from the radio itself. I would like to find someone who has one with a bad cord or plug and would sell me the " Guts " so I could fix mine. if you hear of anyone who has one with a bad cord/connector ,please let me know, would be much appreciated. Ron , check Buxcomm's web site they are in virginia for a replacement mike. I got one for my htx-212 from them. It seems to be a good quality mike,but does not have the key pad on it about $25.00
