Default FT-817(ND) External Keypad

I have one (1) assembled external keypad for Yaesu FT-817/FT-817ND, not boxed, for sale. See the attached picture for details (the book is not included ). It was built for a local HAM that turned down his request once the work was completed.

This is an FT-817(ND) accessory I have designed from scratch to suit specific operating needs, but has turned out to be flexible enough to satisfy other operators. The whole project is publicly documented on my website:
http://www.paolocravero.tk (follow the top link to the keypad).

The onboard firmware can be changed to suit one's need, up to the limit imposed by the available chip memory. Programmed functions will be agreed with the buyer (see User's Manual for details and what it can do), otherwise the standard "free" firmware will be programmed:
  • Direct frequency dial [0 1 or 4, then any number]
  • Mode change (AM,FM,CW,CWR,LSB,USB) [* + (see manual)]
  • VFO A/B [A]
  • Meter mode [B]
  • Power level [C]
  • VOX on/off [D]
  • 15 onboard, user settable, memories (read from VFO) [# + (any key)]

The cost for the assembled and tested keypad as shown in the picture and one customly programmed chip for keypad is 58 EURO (about 87 USD at current exchange rate) including Registered S&H to Continental W and VE (and Europe as well).

The cost is computed as follows:
  • materials: 20 EURO
  • assembly and test work (3 hours): 30 EURO
  • S&H: 8 EURO
  • Custom firmware: FREE! (worth 10 EURO)

Payment is via PayPal in EURO currency. Shipping occurs next working day in a Registered padded envelope (from Italy, Europe), unless a highly customized firmware is requested.

LEDs and cable plug into the keypad circuit with error-free molex-like connectors.

You need to include this keypad into a proper plastic enclosure (not provided).
