Default Honda EU200i is GREAT!

I recently purchased the generator and finally tested it today. I've read on eham.net that a very few "some" have experienced RF on HF frequencies. Well, I can tell you that I was on 20 and 17 meters today and talked to a bunch of people. All of my reports said they heard no RF interference while I was using the Generator.

What I liked most about the generator was the fact that I could use the economy mode "Eco throttle" which allows the generator to run super quiet. It's so quiet, you could carry on a normal conversation next to the generator and not even really realize that the machine is running. Yeah, it's that quiet.

I tested the generator while using my HF gear at full power. My 12VDC power supply was pulling full power while my Yeasu 857d was drawing 100watts on SSB mode. The generator didn't even hickup.

The generator gives off no RF, hash or anything else undesirable. It powered my tuner, radio, 1000watt ceramic heater and coffe pot simultaneously. It will make portable work a dream and I can't wait until the weather warms up. I"m going to the nearest desert mountain top with my equipment for the upcomming field day in a few months.

If you're going to get a Honda generator, make sure you use at least 89-octane gas and definately use a fuel stabilizer which can be purchased at ANY auto parts store. It will prevent varnish and gel in you genny's carburetor.

I highly recommend this generator.

I'll second the recommendation. We purchased two of these for SAR use and have had great luck with them. The ability to tie them together and double the output is also handy!

As service manager for the major OPE dealer here, I can add we have had
zero problems with them other than stale fuel issues. Stabil is your friend.
