He's looking to "freeband" a poor, innocent FT857. Which diode/resistor should he remove, gang?

Just remove all of them. That way he's bound to get the right one.

Default MARS Mods

Why resurect a 15 month + old thread. This stuff matters to almost no one today. Sad.

Just another cber looking to us for a way to hack his amateur rig and make it work on cb.

Ya know...i've got new hams here in the area that just came off cb, several of them are using top of the line amateur rigs on cb. The worse part of it all is several of these new guys now hold an amateur extra license and are still freebanding. A few even have fancy one by two vanity call signs to go along with those 20plus years of chickenbanding and their cb handles.

We ask ourselves why would anyone want to do this especially after passing the test for amateur extra and having the world at ones finger tips via amateur radio? Must be something in the water!!

Let me get this right. Your asking us legally operating hams to help you get advice on how to trip this radio for illegal 11m dx'ing? Not for US MARS but for illegal 11m dx'ing-Unreal!

You have no business in getting and ham license when you decide to. Your asking us on this ham radio site to to help you trip and set illegally for so-called freeband dx. In reality they're and bunch of illegal hf spectrum grabbers using illegally modifed ham equipment wordlwide. They including you call your DX DXCC-What and insult!

And on top of that, AG4WT decided that it would somehow be worthwhile to resurrect a thread that was started in December of 2007, died in Feb of 2008... and then 14 months later he feels the need to dredge it from forum hell.
