I just got done being told to go to hell by someone in this, if you can call it a company. Not sure why the person was so hostile or so short tempered but maybe it was because he had to work the day after Thanksgiving.

I called to purchase one of their headsets and the person on the other side became enraged because I could not tell him the exact size of the plug I needed. When I told him it was a phone or a phono plug, he snapped back, "well, I'm not there to see it" Blurred out a few choice words that I cannot print here and hung up the telephone.

I don't know the size of this company or if the owners really care about their reputation but all I can say is, Unbelievable that someone so rude and short tempered can remain in business. They must have customers knocking their door down to buy stuff from them.

So if you are ever in a happy mood and need a quick jolt of insults directed at you. Call Warren Gregorie and they will be glad to provided free of charge.

I have never ran across anyone so rude and these rascals at Warren Gregorie. Patronize them at your own risk![B]

Everybody has a bad day sometime, people can't be happy bunnies everytime somebody rings them and doesn't know what he wants to buy. The easiest way is to give them a product number. If they stock thousands of items they won't know them all.

The person who you mention only sells one item, headphones.

True, but a business that begins to think that the customers are a burden is bound to fail. In my line of work I was always taught that customers are the reason why we have a job. To me there is no excuse for ever being rude to a customer unless he/she is first disrespectful to you and in my 54 years I have come across many but at the end they wind up being very apologetic. Even hard to deal with customers see the light with a good customers service approach.

There are a couple of very successful billionaires that will adamantly disagree with you; Jeff Besos of Amazon.com, a company built around superior customer service and Mike Dillon of Dillon Precision Products, inc. whose personal philosophy is, and I quote, "You treat other people the way you want to be treated."

Hate to add to this, but I too bought a TR-2000 headset wired up for my ICOM. Got it and right away noticed how flimsy it appeared. The headset is so lose that if you look down it falls off your head.

I had problems too with distortion due more then likely, to the small diameter poorly shielded mic cord to mic plug. I installed ferrite cores on it and it helped but not completely.

I contacted WG about the lose fitting head set and they sent me some foam squares. For what? Where? I tried to use them but made no difference.

I contacted them about the distortion problems and asked if they have a service bulletin on this issue. My other mics all work fine but the WG's.

I got an e-mail back telling me to refer to the ARRL Handbook and GL. That was it. No support, no recommendations, etc.

Needless to say, won't buy their cheap cr*p ever again.

I called and ordered a headset from WG and the guy on the phone got real huffy when I told him that I didn't want it with any connectors on it. I mean, what's it to him anyway? In any case the headset was very cumbersome and finally wound up in my junk bin. I have since switched to to a Logitech headset made for pc communications and it works beatifuly and the best part is it was only 20 bucks! Sounds just as good as any I have played with.

Anybody want my WG headset?

73 to all.

Many years ago, I was comparing various headsets and WG was one of the companies I asked to send me an info brochure. Several years later, my son (the airplane driver) was looking for headsets for his flight students. I called WG and asked for a brochure that my son could look over. The reply, "We already sent that to you." Until I read this thread, I thought the guy was just having a bad day. Seems more like a bad decade.

If that's the worst you have come across you have not experienced life yet.
I have run into some real winners in my life.
Jerks can appear out of nowhere.
In my opinion you should have been prepared to know the plug size but then again there was no excuse for the attitude of the sales person involved.
I would send a letter, not an email, to the owner of the company. If the person involved was really that rude they definitely need to address that issue.
