Hi all,

I have an old Icom SM-2 desk mic (circa Icom 751A era) and was wondering how this would go on my Icom 7000? Of course after the adaptor cable is used in line and the levels adjusted to suit. #Has anyone used one of these older style mics on any of the latest new gear that is out now?

I run an SM-2 mike with my IC-7000. Works great, just turn the mike gain (on the mike) all the way down or it's too hot for the radio. I love mine.

Hi David, ( KE5NDB ),

Thanks for your comments re my post. #My Icom SM2 is usually hooked up to my Icom 751A. #A perfect match let me tell you! #I am glad to hear that you have yours hooked up to your Icom 7000 and are happy with it. #As the new SM20 is quite expensive I was hoping that the SM2 would work. #OK on turning the gain pot at the bottom down too. #I will have to go and get the adaptor cable and give it a go. Thanks for your comments.
