Bill writes an interesting article about hams who speak
Esperanto, and the International Esperanto Amateur Radio
    Organization called ILERA.

In case you haven't heard, Esperanto is a universal
language that hams and people of different language use
as a common language. See how it can benefit you onthe air...

    Greetings all:

I speak and teach La Internacia Lingvo, better known as Esperanto.
There is an international Esperanto amateur radio organization
abbreviated ILERA. ILERA stands for Internacia Ligo de Esperantisto-Radio-Amatoroj. (J is pronounced Y); (C is pronounced TS).

There are even several HF frequencies where Esperantists are supposed to hang out. Some Esperantists use the Morse Esperanto alphabet.

Esperanto was confirmed as clear text by the ITU way back in the 1920's or 1930's.

The earliest known QSO in Esperanto by speakers of different nations was in the 1920's - from the US to Europe.
