Default Giving up!

Well, obviously nobody is paying any attention, or is willing to help someone that needs advice for this program. I don't want to join the message group on Yahoo, but apparently that's the only way to get any answers. You can't even look at the messages unless you are a member. At this point, it's just too much hassle to bother continuing with this program, so it's getting dumped! I'll go back to paper, at least I don't have to spend the better part of my life trying to figure out how to make it work!

I don't find Logger32 to be very good at all. It is hard to set up and confusing. Users of the Yahoo group report loads of problems with it.

I dumped it in favor of ACLog3.0 (Free to try out for a month I believe) and N1MM logging software (great for contests)

Is there a particular problem or feature you are having trouble with?
.. One of the reasons it is hard to set up is because it is not user ready packaged. The log has to be set up the way you want it to look and has a lot of features you may not even want or need.
One of the neat things about logger is the help files, which can walk you thru the set up. A lot of effort on someones part went into wrinting the help files. It did take me a week or so to figure some of it out.

I have mine set up to do all the digi modes and automatic logging and lookup. It also shows the dx clusters thru telnet and controls the radio bands and modes.
The spots come up in the dx cluster window and I click on the DX I want to listen to and the radio switches to it automatically.
This also has to be setup by the user and the software will interface with many radios CAT control.
I may look at a few other freeware programs and see if they are any better but for the price ( free ) logger32 works really well for me.

One thing they will tell you it is not supported with Vista. I had a couple of bugs but mine is running with Vista and is doing ok.

Looks like this thread is a reference to this one:

My reason for noting all this was that it seemed that the OP was complaining about the lack of response from his posts on QRZ.

A little patience can go a long way.

I fully support your decision (and your refund check is in the mail). Explicit instructions as to how to do what you wanted are in the READ.ME file of each release. However, that is now a moot point. 73.

I fully support your decision (and your refund check is in the mail). Clearly you subscribe to a different Logger32 reflector than I do. Other than operator malfunction, I am not aware of any outstanding problems. 73.

i have been using Logger32 since 2003 - i find it very easy to use and configuration was really not that difficult - i spent a few hours adjusting fonts, colors, and displayed fields - not a huge headache in the least.

typically, an email group is the place people look for help with problems. of course you will read about problems, but if you follow the threads you see that typically it was user inflicted and not an issue with the code.

i really like Logger 32 and settled on it after trying many other programs. it works well and does the job i need of it - to track my QSO's and manage my awards.

To answer the question.....quoted from logger32 web page as follows...(please follow the instructions in the READ.ME file). Users who have fallen behind in updates and wish to upgrade to 3.22 from a release earlier than 3.21, please backup your logs in ADIF format, download and install the full version of 3.22 and import the backup ADIF logs into v 3.22...end quote.
As for myself I see not much reason to upgrade unless there is a problem? Mine works great including synchronizing with LOTW and eQSL and QRZ. GL what ever you decide.
