The best passes are those close to the horizon, due to the antenna design. When the birds pass directly overhead, I lose them completely until they fall back near the horizon.
It isn't the best setup, but it will work.

Thanks for reply. What birds you have worked with the X200? Can you make a recoding of one pass of AO-51? I saw you live in NY. You have 2 passes this morning (the first in about 20 minutes, the second 90 minutes later). I will be very grateful if you can record one of them.
