Default Alpha 86 Amplifier PIN Diode Issues

Hi Folks,

Once upon a time there were dozens of sites that had the details for how to swap out the failure prone PIN diodes in the Alpha 86 with vac relays, or with more stout diodes. I've spent the morning looking around the net, and they all seem to have gone up in smoke!

Does anyone have a good set of instructions, or a site reference/URL you can point me to for making this mod happen?

I have a pristine Alpha 86 here but the PINs are blown. Rather than go through replacement every other month, I'd like to execute the mod.

Can someone send me, or point me to the correct place for this!

Thanks, and Regards...

Hi Mike,
I just completed the Mod to convert an Alpha 86 to vacuum relays.
It was actually quite easy to do and works fantastic once finished.
I have not posted the procedure yet on my web site.
