It never hurt any body, such a pretty deer.

Why did those men do that ?

Anti gun stance? He is all for the right to bear arms.

Statement from John Kerry on National Hunting and Fishing Day
“As your president, I will do everything in my power to protect our hunting and fishing tradition. Hunters and anglers are great contributors to our communities as well as our economy. That is why I created a Sportsmen's Bill of Rights which details my commitment to the Second Amendment and to ensuring sportsmen have access to the high-quality habitat and wildlife we need to properly hunt and fish.
“This election is about protecting the core values and traditions of our nation. I hope you will stand with me as I fight for hunters, anglers and all Americans.”

Ted Kersote, author of many publications on hunting and fishing, on why he supports Kerry-Edwards:

"If you're a hunter and angler you ought to vote for John Kerry. Why? Three reasons:

1) John Kerry wouldn't open up the natioal forests' nearly 60 million acres of roadless, wildlife habitat to development, as Bush is trying to do;

2) John Kerry would make sure that energy development is done according to the wildlife safeguards we were promised and which have been ignored thanks to lobbying by Bush's friends in the oil and gas industry;

3) John Kerry would make sure that conservationists ran the Departments of Interior and Agriculture, instead of former executives from the timber, oil, and mining industries.

There's really no other choice. A vote for Bush is a vote for less hunting and fishing opportunites. A vote for John Kerry keeps hunting and fishing safe."

Hunting has very little to do with the right to bear arms.

Kerry has a big fat F rating from the National Rifle Association. The worst rating they give. He has voted against firearms at least 50 times in the past.

Ya, but it's a whole lot easier to kill a deer with a gun than to chase it down and bludgeon it to death with a rock. I don't know about you, but I'm getting older, fatter, and slower with each passing year.

Oh, EFA, you should know better than to give me a line like that...

2004, Bill S1805, the "Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act." According to Project Vote Smart: "Vote to pass a bill that would prohibit certain civil lawsuits against manufacturers, distributors, dealers and importers of firearms and ammunition pertaining to acts of criminal or unlawful misuse of firearms." Senator Kerry voted NO.

1999, Bill S2312, on "Ammunition Feeding Devices," which was a "vote to table an amendment that would prohibit the importation of large capacity ammunition clips." Senator Kerry voted NO.

Also 1999, Bill S2260, on "Gun Lock Requirement," which was a "vote to table an amendment to make it unlawful for gun dealers to sell handguns without trigger locks." Senator Kerry voted NO.

Also 1999, also Bill S2260, this time on "Background Checks," this was a "vote to prohibit charging prospective gun owners a tax or fee to cover the cost of a background check, and to require the destruction of any information used during a background check if that person is allowed to purchase a firearm." Senator Kerry voted NO.

1993, Bill S1607, the "Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement" act, "Amendment to ban certain semi-automatic assault weapons." Senator Kerry voted YES.

All of these votes can be verified at Project Vote Smart (the link goes right to Senator Kerry's voting record page).

And he's all for the right to keep and bear arms?
