    ANZAC 100 logs milestone

The QSOs generated by the Wireless Institute of Australia (WIA) ANZAC 100 program and now uploaded as digital files has already exceeded 5,000 - but will soon nudge 10,000 contacts.

From May 22 the VK100ANZAC callsign will be in Western Australia, and June 4-10 it comes to Sydney.

Meantime, this is the last weekend for the ZL100ANZAC callsign by the New Zealand Association of Radio Transmitters (NZART). Already it has many thousands of contacts.

Both the WIA and NZART are running complementary programs, with commemorative events held also in Turkey, Belgium and elsewhere.

It honours those Australian and New Zealand Army Corp (ANZAC) soldiers who fought in WWI and since.

On May 22-27 the “ Remembering the ANZACs” event will see VK100ANZAC put on air by Peter Barrett VK6FUN and Scott Hopwood VK6VSH, both ex-Army signallers, in a remote part of Western Australia.

On June 4-10 the VK100ANZAC callsign will be heard thanks to DXer Tommy Horozakis VK2IR, which is promising to be very active with DX on the HF bands.

All logs are being loaded up by eQSL, LoTW and ClubLog by Trent Sampson VK4TS. Some recent events have yet to file logs electronically, but this is expected to happen soon.
