Dorothea Evergates - Mann, ex-VP2EE, ex-KA2OUZ, passed away on July 2, 2014 after a lengthy illness. She was a retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel, Military Intelligence Branch. She resided in Tucson, AZ after departing from Anguilla. Some may recall the home and antenna farm she and her husband, Dave VP2EHF, maintained on Anguilla, including a rental apartment for visiting DX'ers. They both played a significant role in providing DX confirmations for VP2E land from 1985 through 1999. They also played a significant role in providing EMCOM support to the Government of Anguilla during several hurricanes. They were jointly awarded the ARRL International Humanitarian Award in 1996. Colonel Evergates was a Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) office with a distinguished military and civilian career. She was buried with full military honors at the Arizona Veterans Cemetery.
