    McBride III, Arthur Charles 01/16/1943 ~ 4/16/2015 VISTA --

Arthur McBride, age 72, passed away peacefully with his wife and son at home on April 16, 2015.
He was born January 16, 1943 in San Diego, CA to Arthur and Julia McBride, Jr.

Art began his engineering career at an early age (6 - amazing) when he wired the house his parents were building.
Art worked in his father's and grandfather's shop through high school.

Art's many career accomplishments include working at General Atomic in nuclear instrumentation, with many of his designs still used to this day. He worked with some of the greatest scientific minds in the world.
He founded Electronic Services of San Diego, providing and designing special equipment for the tuna fleet. His capability with repair was so successful that it saved purchasing new equipment.

Art was known for his integrity. He was also an outstanding mentor to all those searching for knowledge.
In the 1980's he partnered with Ocean Satellite Systems, developing among other things, an intricate satellite weather machine used for locating fish.

In 1999 he was ready to work for other companies including Remtron (until 2006) and Secure Wireless (which is now Nortek Security and Control LLC). He brought new life to these companies by improving their existing products and designing new ones. He acquired leadership skills while active in the Junior Chamber of Commerce.

Art became interested in amateur radio, using his skills in improving the equipment.
He enjoyed his involvement in amateur radio clubs (including EARS, PARC, Microwave Group and D-STAR).

In 1966 Art met the love of his life, JoAnn Coyne. They married the following year, March 18, 1967. The blessed journey continued for life and all eternity, with all life's many joys and challenges.

Art has joined his son Grant and is survived by his wife Jo Ann; son Jim and Jocelyn, his fianceƩ; and his only sibling, Rodney (Vicki). With faith and hope, life goes on, his life and those completing their journey on earth.

Services: a viewing will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, with a graveside service at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2015, both at El Camino Memorial Park in Sorrento Valley, 5600 Carroll Canyon Road, San Diego, CA 92121.

In Art's honor, donations to the Elizabeth Hospice, which helped guide us through the last two months, would be appreciated to: 500 La Terraza #130, Escondido, CA 92025.
