Excellent job Fred! Had it not been for your operating skills and likely superior equipment, this may not have had a happy ending. This also stands to reason why adequate equipment for NCS on 14.300 is required to be effective in such emergencies and such. There's no way a station with a mere tiny vertical antenna could have had the kind of communication success that directional/gain antenna's provide. 73! sir and keep up the good work! NU4R
