    John Clark Abdon of Kirkland, WA passed away on April 10, 2015. He was born on August 1, 1948 in Boise, Idaho to Mary Ann Samms and William Clyde Abdon. John was raised in the orange groves of California.

    John earned his Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Utah, in Salt Lake City. He married Barbara Jean Plath on July 31, 1970 in Salt Lake City, UT. John worked as a Petroleum Engineer for Aramco in Saudi Arabia and he was a software engineer as well.

    They moved to the Pacific Northwest in 1991 where they made their home in Bellevue. John enjoyed many hobbies and interests, including HAM Radio operator, photography, surfing, scuba diving and rock hounding. He was well known by family and friends for his great conversations, his passion for knowledge, care for the Earth and the love of his family and God.

    John was preceded in death by his beloved wife Barbara on June 15, 2009; their son Nathan Abdon in 2014 and his brother Bill Abdon. He is survived by eight children: Forest Abdon, Emily Abdon, McKenzie Abdon, Tyler Abdon, Tobias Abdon, Tucker Abdon, Hannah Abdon and Logan Abdon. He will also be missed by his siblings: Scott, Annie and Paul Abdon, and three grandchildren: Makai, Malia and Kayla.
