    MUNCIE - Donald B. Van Horn, 77, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2015.

    He was born in Muncie on September 29, 1937, the son of Donald F. and Fayola Van Horn and graduated from Muncie Central High School.

    Donald proudly and honorably served his country in The United States Navy from 1955 until 1979 retiring after twenty four years as a Chief Petty Officer. He later retired from Ball State University as an Audio/Visual Technician. He also owned and operated Van Horn's Camera Repair.

    Don enjoyed photography, woodworking, scuba-diving, ham radio operation and fishing. He served as the president of Muncie Area Radio Amateurs Club. He was a member of Boy Scouts and served as a scout master in California and Hawaii. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family, old friends and classmates.

    Surviving are his wife of fifty-eight years, Helen (Cunningham) Van Horn; his son, David Van Horn; daughter, Susan Campbell (companion, Kyle Temple); his grandchildren, Karla Van Horn, Bobby Campbell, Angela Campbell and Amanda Yaden (husband, Jeremy); his great-grandchildren, Heather Keller, Krystle Van Horn, Owen Andrew Yaden and William Charles Bruce Yaden; two sisters, Carol Xinos and Karen Covalt; a brother, Chris Van Horn; his uncle and aunt, Rodney and Mary Grobey; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; and a granddaughter, Katherine Keller.

    Services will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Mt. Pleasant Chapel, 7901 West Isanogel Road. Burial will follow in Hawk Cemetery with Military Rites by The United States Navy and the Veterans of Delaware County.

    Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Mt. Pleasant mortuary.

    The family would like to thank the staff at The Woodlands for their care, compassion and support they gave to Don and to the family and to Dr.'s Bruce Graham, Rachel Robinson, Jeffery Ulrich, Lynn Valena and M. Ibrahim.

    Memorial contributions may be directed to Boy Scouts of America (Delaware County), 3400 East Jackson Street, Muncie, Indiana 47303.
