Calling All US Service Veterans - New Veterans Service Salute Award on GERATOL Net

Greetings to all HAM operators, who are also former or current Armed Service members. The GERATOL Net (Which stands for: Greetings Extra Radio Amateurs Tired of Operating Lately, is now offering a very challenging award to any and all Extra Class amateur radio operators. You don't need to have a GERATOL number, nor be a member, nor do you need to be a military veteran to obtain the award.

The challenge is to work current and/or former members of the US Military who are also HAM radio operators across the country. The award is a very colorful one...(See attached pdf.file), suitable for framing. The GERATOL Net operates each evening on 3.668 Mhz. starting at 0100Z. The award is clearly challenging, and will test the skills of those attempting to achieve the award.

We cordially invite any and all operators to join us each evening, but in particular, would like to extend an invitation to those HAMS who have served in any branch of the military, whether in the past or who may be presently serving. RULES for the GERATOL NET, VETERANS SALUTE AWARD:
You must contact one each U.S. Veteran or Active Duty service member i.e.Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force or Coast Guard in each of the contiguous 48states. 240 contacts are required for this award. No QSL cards required. Awardis an ongoing award with no ending date. You do not need to have a Geratolnumber to work towards this award. No Geratol numbers are required from thestation contacted. Typical log style information is required such as; Callsign, Name, Date, State, Time, Signal Report and branch of service of stationscontacted. Frequency must be to four digits. Award is effective 01:00 UTC1-5-2015.
