On January 24, 2015, the VA3XPR DMR repeater was relocated from its original home in the Toronto neighbourhood of St. Jamestown to a new home in downtown Toronto at First Canadian Place. At a height of 355 m (1,165 ft.) AGL, First Canadian Place is Canada’s tallest building and a perfect vantage point to provide reliable DMR coverage to the entire greater Toronto area (GTA).

I thought the CN tower was the highest building in Toronto. Now that would make a great repeater location!

Technically, the CN Tower is just that - a communications tower. It does have an equipment "pod" with an observation lounge but no actual office or residential space. A building is more thought of as a place for offices and/or residences. Granted, we're picking nits here but there is a distinction. With the megawatts coming off the top of that tower, I wonder if a Ham repeater would stand a chance.

Anyone know if this is the highest placed repeater in the world? Or what is?

Not to derail the dialog from First Canadian Place but the RX antennas at the CN Tower are under the edge of the pod in a inflated radome. The TX antennas are on the top of the pod. RX noise never used to be an issue in any band.

Do not think so. There is a repeater on Mosquito Pass near Leadville CO that is at 13,685 feet.

It might be in the running.

There are 2 repeaters on the CN Tower. 145.41 FM and 444.400 FM/Yaesu System Fusion and they are managed by the Toronto FM Communications Society.

va3xpr was busy to 1 bar on xpr4550 base station here in Gasport NY, after move it appears to be 2-3 bars now. So definite improvement.

How is system fusion working out up there?
