I just received word of the passing of Ed Bolton, WA3PUN. He was widely known on 75m AM, and was famous for his Amos n' Andy imitations. He reproduced the early shows in full length from the original script, which were broadcast daily over WBCQ.

He died under tragic circumstances, but I won't go into further details.

    My Condolences.

I found the date information and put the correct SK Date on his QRZ Page.

He will be listed in a future QST as SK.

    "Uncle Ed"

It is with a heavy heart that I have learned of the passing of my good friend("Uncle Ed"), I will always remember the many Qso's on AM & meeting him in person. He was one of a kind.-N8JXT(Earl).

    ahoy

QSL card with Candy the singing dog

Ed and myself often did not see eye to eye

for a few years he was the BIG AM signal on 3885

it is safe to say there was a time

    when nearly every night
    more SWLs listened to Ed
than just about any other ham on 75 meters

Ed blowing another mod transformer in the KW-1
    singing deutschland uber alles

the continuing girl friends soap opera

    he was a fixture
if you wanted to find AM on late night 75 meters
    you simply looked for Ed

    dam
its getting so i know more SK OPs
    than living OPs
