    FORT EDWARD — John L. Lemery Jr., 64, after a courageous battle with cancer, went into the arms of the Lord on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, surrounded by his wife and children.

    Born June 6, 1950, John was the son of the late John L. Lemery Sr. and Barbara J. (LaPoint) Lemery of Hudson Falls.

    On Feb. 20, 1971, he married his lifelong love, Roseanne M. Holleran, at St. Joseph’s Church in Fort Edward.
    John was active duty in the U.S. Navy from 1969 to 1977 and from 1984 to 1988, where he served as a first class petty officer, hospital corpsman.
    A graduate of SUNY Canton and the F. Donald Myers School of Nursing, John had many academic and career achievements in his lifetime. He worked as a licensed funeral director in the area for several years. He also worked as a civilian nurse at the MEPS clinic in Ballston Spa, and the Veterans Administration Hospital in Albany.
    His love for photography helped him create his most enjoyable business venture, “Inspired Images,” which he owned and operated for more than 15 years.
    In addition to his father, John was predeceased by his sister, Lydia J. Lemery of Fort Edward.
    John is survived by his mother, Barbara J. Lemery; his wife, Roseanne M. Lemery; his daughter, Lisa Anne (Lemery) Mohanlal and her husband, Danny, of South Glens Falls; and his son, John L. Lemery III and his girlfriend, Debbie McGarr, of Queensbury.
    John’s granddaughters, Autumn Marie (Princess No. 1) and Lilyana Rose (Princess No. 2) Mohanlal were the light of his life.
    Also surviving are his siblings, Bruce and Patricia Lemery of Borger, Texas, Arlene and Charles Lansburg of Diamond Point and Timothy Lemery of Granville; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
    John was a member of the Elks Lodge No. 81, American Legion Post No. 574, Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES), Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (RACES), and U.S. Navy-Marine Corp Military Auxiliary Radio System (MARS), and his call sign is N2DVD.
    Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8, 2014, at Singleton Sullivan Potter Funeral Home, 407 Bay Road, Queensbury, New York.
    A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014, at St. Joseph’s Church in Fort Edward.
    Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
    Memorial donations in John’s name may be made to C.R. Wood Cancer Center, 100 Park St., Glens Falls, NY 12801.
