PB50REM
50 years after the construction of the North Sea Platform; “REM-eiland”, PB50REM will be activated in the “Houthavens” Amsterdam. In 1964 for broadcast purposes activated platform, near Noordwijk JO22dg in the North Sea, was later stripped of her mast to function as measuring post for “Rijkswaterstaat” the water-department of the Ministry of Public Works.
In 2006, these activities were terminated and only one day PB6REM was activated.
In 2011 the platform was renovated and placed in the “Houthavens” in Amsterdam as a restaurant.
Two members of the PB6REM-crew and friends will activate on Friday September 26th this platform, with the callsign PB50REM, on HF and 2 meters. WW-locator JO22KJ. QSL manager is PA7DA. Please QSL via the Dutch QSL Bureau.
