    Tyler C. Grossett

    GRANVILLE: A memorial service celebrating the life of Tyler C. Grossett, 27, of Granville will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Swasey Chapel on the campus of Dension University with Rev. Jeff Smith as celebrant. A private graveside service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville, with military honors rendered by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.

    Tyler died Monday, March 17, 2014 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio in Newark. He was born May 3, 1986 in Anderson, South Carolina and spent his elementary and middle school years in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Buenos Aires, Argentina. He later attended Granville High School.

    An Army veteran, Tyler served his country, first in the Army Reserve, then full time active duty. He was a member of Center Star #11 Masonic Lodge and the Aladdin Shrine. While Tyler had many trials and tribulations in his life, he considered everyone he met a friend. He had a large, kind heart and loved his family deeply. In his 27 years, he lived an interesting life with an array of experiences and friends spanning the globe. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.

    Surviving are his parents, Jeff and Darcy (Durst) Grossett of Granville; sister, Allie Grossett of Granville; grandfather, Jack Grossett of Vero Beach, FL; aunts and uncles, Diane and Paul Ashcraft of Jacksonville, NC, Debbie and Rob Ree of Granville, Lance and Bonnie Grossett of Eden Prairie, MN; cousins, Ashley Ree, Stephen Ashcraft, and Scott Ashcraft.Tyler was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Dorothy Durst; and fraternal grandmother, Helen Grossett.

    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio, P.O. Box 430, Newark, OH 43058.
