W5SPI, Malcom E. Myers

Malcolm Earl Myers, 87, years old and native of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away, Friday, August 15, 2014, at Heritage Health Center in Hammond. He was born on January 15, 1927. Mr. Myers served in the United States Army and was a WWII veteran. He retired after 36 years from Illinois Central Railroad Company and was a founding member of Pineview Church of Christ. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Joanne Spinks Myers; daughter, Lori "Missy" Meyers Nelson; son, Malcolm "Macky" Myers, Jr; grandchildren, Ryan and Ashley Nelson; niece, Virginia Pansano; nephew, Richard Clark; and sister-in-law, Rose Beyl.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Vivian Smith Myers, sister, Betty Clark; brother, Louis Meyers; son-in-law, Eric Nelson; and brother-in-law, Joe Beyl and Wayne Clark.
Visitation and funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home in Hammond, from 11:00 am until services begin in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Leon Dunn officiating.
Internment will follow in Rose Memorial Park Cemetery in Hammond, Louisiana.
