I know that hams who pay a visit to the USS Missouri who make future arrangements can operate the radios aboard. I was wondering if that is true for other ships/museums. My ham hubby and I are planning our honeymoon in August to visit the Midway Museum and wondered if anyone knew if they allowed other hams to work that radio room? Is there a contact person or ham club in San Diego who would know this information? We will be there from Aug 13-20th 2014. I made a contact on Veterans Day last year and received some passes to visit the museum. Just curious about the procedures if they allow operations of the radios aboard.
Thanks for Any info and thanks to our vets!

Thanks Steve but I am asking about the USS Midway not the Missouri. Does the Midway allow hams to work the radios aboard?

    MIDWAY's amateur call-sign is
NI6IW. According to the FCC data base, the trustee is AF6BC "Floyd". His E-mail address is listed on QRZ also.
