W8R--World Amateur Radio Day

Mahoning County ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Service) is recognizing World Amateur Radio Day, April 18th, by setting up stations at the ITT Technical Insitute building, 1030 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, OH. We will be on the air from 4:00pm to 7:00 pm. We will operate as W8R and invite all with an interest to join us in person or on the air.


A printable certificate confirming your contact with W8R will be emailed upon your request to w8rstation@yahoo.com . Please put "WARD Certificate" in the subject and be sure to include your callsign, the band, and the time of the contact in the email. Alternatively, a paper certificate will be mailed upon receipt of your request and $2.00 to cover the printed certificate, postage, and envelope.
