NI6IW USS Midway Museum Special Event 12 APR 14; USS Midway decomm & CPO established

USS Midway (CV-41) naval aircraft carrier museum in San Diego CA will be conducting a Special Event this Saturday 12APR14 to honor the establishment of the Chief Petty Officer (CPO) rank in 1893 and the decommissioning of the USS Midway in 1992 after serving for 47 years. We will be operating from 1600Z to 2300Z. We will be on SSB 14.320 and 7.250, PSK31 on 14.070 and D-STAR via REF001C and other regional reflectors.

I was in San Diego last yr. and was on the Midway on Memorial day , had a member of the ham radio club on a repeater and he mentioned you guys ended up , as a gift , some Elecraft radios .
We assumed you guys would be operating on that day , but radio room was closed
All the guys working the ship gave us a GREAT tour , public & non public areas .
If anyone is near , it is a real good time .
