    John F. Cleary, 91, of 281 Hood Ave, Syracuse passed away Monday at his home. J
    ohn was a life resident of Syracuse.

    John was the owner of Editorial Graphics in Syracuse for 12 years retiring in 1987.

    He was previously employed at WOLF and WFBL radio stations and was an engineer at General Electric for several years.

    He was a veteran of WW II serving in the Merchant Marines.

    He was a member of the Radio Amateurs of Greater Syracuse (RAGS), the Liverpool Amateur Radio Club (LARC),FISTS CW Club (International Morse Preservation Society) and of Amateur Radio Call: WN2Q.

    Surviving are his wife of 66 years, the former Lois Bender: his daughter, Cathleen Basko (Bill) of Syracuse; his son, Timothy Cleary of Syracuse; his sister, Catherine Gaffney of Syracuse; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

    The family will receive friends and relatives on Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the family home, 281 Hood Ave, Syracuse.

    In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Meals on Wheels of Syracuse, New York, 300 Burt St. Syracuse, NY 13202. Zimmer Funeral Homes, Chittenango and Cazenovia is in charge of arrangements.
