Either you worship the CREATOR God of the Bible..or you worship in some part, His creation..some tiny part of the stuff He made. It may be a tree, it may be a rock like the black block(the Kabah) in Mecca, it MAY be the Sun(called by many names over the centuries) ..but it's still just a part of the KREE-A-SHUN.
Some vague 'spirituality" just don't cut it, mainly bkz you can't answer this question: "WHAT spirit??"
Funny how the world's two "Great Religions" are responsible for more deaths than any other single source of conflict in the history of Man.
With that. read about these poor folks:

The Buddhists, whose religion HAS no god, would be dissapointed by the narrow range of choices you leave them.
You should be aware, also, that Muslims no more worship the Kaaba than Catholics worship Saint Peter's Cathedral. However, if that was indeed your impression, you are not the first; some of us still mistake going to church for righteousness.

I just avoid the whole religion thing, much easier. To each their own I guess, but you don't need to be religious to be a good person.

Some folks seem to confuse Religion and Spirituality...
I have known over the years many 'religious' folks who went to church every week, some of them a couple times a week, and they were sure to get forgiven for all the screwin' they were puttin' on folks all the other days...
I have never known a person who was truely of the spirit to knowingly screw over another person... and it doesn't matter what religion they belong to or if they belong to one at all...
Religion really doesn't matter... Good folks are good, Bad folks are bad... Simple as that!

It's funny that you say that about talking to God etc., that's the one thing that scares me about George W. Bush than anything else. The fact that he talks to God, I hope he doesn't hear God in his head as well. That would be even scarier.
Again, I have no personal qualms with the average religious person; I do have a problem with the people that feel the need, in their righteousness, to proclaim it as truth and force it on everyone else.

It takes faith to believe in what you cannot see and the easy effortless path to be a skeptic, atheist or agnostic. Why are you threatened by what Bush does?
He talks to God and how God talks to His people is through the Bible. I am sure Bush reads the Bible and that is how God speaks to him.
But wait, all of this is utter foolishness to many that simply refuse to understand.
You know many people seem to forget history of the reformation (Martin Luther, Calvin) and why people who had a true and deep personal faith in God were burned at the stake for being heretics.
Problem is many of you have seen far too many hypocrites (not true believers who play church on Sunday or whatever day and live like there is no tomorrow any other time) and determined it's a sham. I cannot say I blame you, but (whether you believe it or not) a period of time is coming (sooner rather than later) that nobody needs to experience. You can flame away and say I am crazy, but with the way events in this world are going something horrible (depending on where you stand) is not far from happening.
Watch Europe and the Middle East in the coming years.
Food for thought...
If Christianity is such a sham... Then why are there Christians (more importantly those with a genuine faith) getting persecuted more and more of late just like they did hundreds of years ago and throughout history? Why are they being executed in Sudan? Why are they jailed and/or executed in China? Why such a fierce fight to wipe it out of our nation (which was founded on it)?
Bottom line, it's what going on that we cannot see with our own eyes that is what the real deal is. Consider me crazy if you so desire, but I have seen and heard things with my own eyes and ears that tell me otherwise. Trust me, it will frighten you if you ever experience it. But that choice is yours because you have one.
