Your reasoning is the one with flawed logic.

If the best rebuttal you have is, there are two other beacons on that band, one on each coast, I would say you need to do better.

I had a ham cut me off at the knees once because I wanted to build a repeater. He said, "What do you want to do that for? We have plenty of repeaters!". For 6 or 7 years, I let my Mastr II's sit in a corner collecting dust. However, when I decided to build it and put it on the air, the information I learned about integration, differentiation, Fourier and all the things that go along with learning the differences between FM and PM would have been kept well hidden on the web, because I would have never needed to learn it. Not to mention the information learned from designing and building the little "extras" I added such as extended carrier and buffered audio inputs/outputs for the aux devices I have attached to it.

You sir, are doing a disservice to those who want to experiment and learn. But then again, I suspect that you are one of those OFs who don't see the value in doing something that seems so very trivial.

You are pretty good at swearing at people that don't agree with your ideas. You seem to be a real asset to the hoddy ole man. A real class act indeed. Were you planning to go fight him somewhere if he didnt meet you on 75m? I was wondering if you could you cuss me out too? I also think you are just wasting air time with your toy beacon as well.I havent heard it on the air and dont plan to listen for it either.Who knows if it is on or not? Somebody back in the first of this thread said that if there is no sched for the beacon it is pretty much worthless. How does a person know if the band is closed or is the beacon just turned off? I would have to agree with that earlier post! Flame away......Jim/WM5L

Some of these keyboard tough guy Hams make me laugh, right in their face!! It's a hobby so experiment on. Good luck with your beacon. I'm getting ready to put a total of 3 up. One on 6m 2m and 70cm. They don't like it then do this.

Dig a hole, stick your head in it and scream as loud as you can. That's how much I care IT'S A HOBBY! Look it up.......

I could care less if Curmudgeon agrees with me or not. The problem is that he posts stupid negatory comments on every article listed on qrz.com and eham.net - whether he agrees with it or not - just trying to be negative about anything and everything. I as well as many others are getting tired of this crap and it's long past time that someone lit into him! I've gotten 35 private messages from qrz.com and eham.net users both congratulating me on saying what I said to him - as I said, I wasn't the only one getting very tired of him. And, with that many users thanking me in messages, who knows how many others liked to see it happen - just didn't respond. See, I can be rude, crude, and socially unacceptable at times, but there is reason for actions like this - It keeps the idiots away. Maybe, just maybe he will get the hint! Probably not, but worth the effort.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. And, if you look at my article it says "Any and all suggestions / comments / signal reports (local and dx) will be greatly appreciated." I'm just tired of the idiots and cry-babies that probably don't even have a HAM ticket downing every article or idea that appers on this website. Aren't you tired of every article going down the drain also? Just like for the longest time, every article one way or another turned into a code/no-code debate!

I'm not sorry for attacking him like I did - not at all. Come on, something needed to be said - point blank, in his face, no room for other interpretations.

I am sorry if I offended you other users, but it was his day and he had it coming for a long time by many people.

Thank you for placing the experimental beacon on the air. I enjoy reading about hams trying something new. Let us know if you plan other bands, QRP, or directional antennas. Try the USA Novice band upper limits, near 3724 and 7149 kHz, or Part 15 beacons near 520 and 1700 kHz.

The NCDXF runs a number of beacons around the world on 20/17/15/12/10 meters. One of these is in W2 land and one is in W6 land. They transmit every 3 minuites. If you are in one extreme or the other in the country and can hear the beacon from the other extreme, you can feel relatively assured that the band is open and if you can hear them both then you can even surmise that the band is likely open everywhere in the country. How many beacons do we need? And as far as experimentation goes, nothing wrong with that. Wouldn't it be more appropriate to experiment with something that had more purpose and meaning than just to promote the ego?[/QUOTE]
I can't believe all the negative comments about a 10 watt useful beacon. Probably from guys running 500 watts PSK31. A Ham in Kyrgyzstan that wants to work into the central US might reap enormous benefits from this signal. Keep up the good work Rob, some guys will complain about anything. 73 All de Mike w3mz

    Negative - 1.
    Childish swearing - game over.

Maybe you should have parked the testosterone and used one of those Private Messages rather than expose us to your rage.

I strongly don't agree with you... you don't agree with me.
    What now?
