Glen ( k9sth ) sends me a " messenger " that to quote " I need to cease and desist the PRAISE THE LORD and PRAISE GOD THE ALMIGHTY FATHER words at the end of my posts. " I asked the one question of " WHY ? ". Is there a standard the forbids the mention of GOD or the DEVIL in the posts ? What are your thoughts, and if you do not wish to post them here, feel free to e-mail me , just do it in the normal fashion. ---ai4ep---
God loves you .
Be as nice as you can to others.
I type real slow for those of you who can not read fast.
Abide by the rules that the owner and his designated agents set forth.
I think the answer to the question " Why should I stop?" is the same answer I give my daughter when she asks me "Why should I stop ...?" The answer is "Because I told you to."
Glen is the Moderator of this forum. You do what he says or else. Seems perfectly reasonable to me.
Looks like QRZ has stooped to an all time low.....
I only obey the writen rules, not rules of whim or personal opinon. This too is a private board and there are rules however I dont see where this crosses any of them. When you invite others to your playground you cant expect them to only play your way, pretty soon you will be alone with no one to play with.
Just my 2 cents LOL
For some reason, EP is double posting - his "message" to me came through twice. As such, I am going to post this same message in both of the threads that he started.
Frankly, many users who post on this forum have been complaining about EP's use of religious terms in a sarcastic manner. As for myself, I just ignore them. However, I can see the problems that his use of these terms can cause to certain people.
Therefore, in trying to maintain at least a reasonable level of harmony on the board I did tell him to cease using these little "digs". I did inform him by private message so as not to cause any disharmony on the forum. He decided to complain to the "masses" before he replied to me. That is his choice. But, since I do have to make a sincere attempt to keep some decorum on this forum, I exercised my authority in this matter.
If someone doesn't like it, then they just can keep not liking it! I am considerably more lienient in the language that I allow on this particular forum than what the other moderators and staff members usually allow on the rest of the site. As such, when I believe that something crosses the line of decorum then I will insist that this no longer be used.
As for his wanting a definition of "trolling": In my mind that is a series of posts that are intended to cause discourse among the other participants of the forum.

"Written rules" If someone comes to your house for dinner, they play by YOUR rules, written or not.
If Glen told us all that we MUST sign "Praise the Lord" at the end of each post, we could either DO IT and stay or NOT DO IT and risk being banned. What is the big deal? This is not about censorship in a free society, this is about the owner of a site doing whatever he pleases with his site. If you don't like the decision, you can leave.
When I'm in somebody else's home, I go by their rules. It's simple courtesy.
As far as your reference to the Lord.........waddyareckon would happen with somebody's reference to Allah or Buddha?
Be steady in your faith. It does not need to be displayed in a forum and subject to potshots. Everybody is here for something else.
I don't own the site but do try to enforce the rules of the road set by the actual owner, Fred Lloyd. Also, I do try to maintain a minimum level of decorum (although lately some of the topics have really pushed that limit).
You have a very steady hand.
